Our history represents our dedication to what we continue to do for our community. We worked hard to provide the traumatic grieving community with the services and resources that they need. We continue to grow all thanks to the helping hands of this amazing community.
We started a support group in 2009 under the name A.J.M. (Antoine Jr. and Marcedys) Foundation Inc. to provide supportive solutions for grieving families in the city of Pittsburgh and surrounding communities. We officially became a federal tax-exempt nonprofit organization in 2019. That same year we partnered with a plush animal company that provides us with the ability to provide the tools we need to help children. In 2019 our P.L.U.S.H. Initiative was born. This program is a trademark of our organization. The comfort plush program received its first inventory of plush animals in May 2020. The comfort plush program gave the first P.L.U.S.H. animal to a grieving child June 2020. In 2021, we official changed our name to P.L.U.S.H. (People Love and Understand Sorrowful Humans) Alliance to represent the purpose of our organization. As we continue to grow, we will continue to maintain our mission, objective and purpose.

Ms. Brooks earned an Associate's degree in Business Administration specialized in Business Management in 1995 while caring for a 1 year old and giving birth to a son a few weeks before her graduation. Ms. Brooks has worked 10 years in the for-profit business world in sales, management and customer service while raising her children. After her children passed in 2005, Ms. Brooks prayed for God to lead her in the direction that God wanted her to go. In 2013, God led her to go to a program sponsored by Greater Works Ministry where she received a certificate in Prayer ministry. Ms. Brooks knew that God had greater plans for her life. Following God's guidance in 2014 she started in the Social Work program at Carlow University. Ms. Brooks earned her Bachelor's 19' and Master's 22' in Social work from Carlow University.
She created this organization to support individuals that have experienced traumatic grief after her two children son Antoine Jr. and daughter Marcedys sadly passed away in a two-vehicle accident in 2005. While she was grieving her 9 year son and her 2 year old daughter she found that there weren't any support systems set up for individuals that have been through a traumatic grief event. Many of her own family members did not understand the grieving process and many were also grieving. Her trials and tribulations inspired Ms. Brooks to help grieving individuals through their own grief. With the help of a few friends, she started a support group of grieving mothers in 2009. After years of research, education and prayer God lead her to start the nonprofit organization we have today. Ms. Brooks is passionate about helping others and has dedicated her life to help her community.
Ms. Brooks has dedicated her life to helping people and has made her mission in life to create a positive change in the community on how we all deal with grief, trauma and crisis. Her personal mission is to bring awareness and education to the community so that no other person feels that they have to grieve alone. Send us a message if you would like Ms. Brooks to speak at your event, company, business, group, seminar or organization. Contact us to learn more about how you can support our initiative.
